Your Home's Refresh Stream Active Period
What happens during the Refresh Stream?
The Refresh Stream of the Provincial PoET Program is for homes that have completed the Initiation Stream, the Recertification Stream, or both. A non-certificate stream, the Refresh Stream provides homes with two weeks of support from the PoET Team to revisit changes they have made, refresh education on topics of interest to them, and reaffirm their commitment to alignment with the Health Care Consent Act. Â
During the two-week active period of the Refresh Stream, homes will have access to both PoET Preliminaries and PoET Practicals, our standing, live webinar series. (More information on these series below!). In addition to these webinars, homes also have up to ten hours of time they can use for activities of their choosing – perhaps with a combination of our A La Carte activities, or maybe something else! The PoET Team will work with you to select and plan how you would like to use your time.
3-Year PoET Certificate Standards
Click HereAlthough the Refresh Stream does not grant certificates, some homes might want to use their Refresh Stream time to help prepare for Recertification. Homes that have this intention are encouraged to review the 3-Year PoET Certificate Standards to help them identify what topics of focus might be particularly valuable.
PoET Preliminaries and PoET Practicals
Your home has access to both the PoET Preliminaries education series and the PoET Practicals coaching series. Each series includes five different sessions that help to build knowledge and skills related to Ontario’s Health Care Consent Act.

A few things to know about these sessions:
- All sessions are live and interactive, and take place on zoom.
- Each week has a different zoom link. These links are included below, and will be emailed to your home’s primary contacts.
- The Preliminaries and Practicals take place on alternating weeks; the start date you have chosen will determine which series you have access to first.
